The Jaffna Kings squad and the Colombo Strikers team will play in the Lanka Premier League cricket tournament’s opening game on July 30 at Colombo R. Premadasa ground. Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed that it would take place at Premadasa Stadium.
5 teams will participate in the tournament in this year and the tournament will be held in two stages as preliminary round and final round.
The preliminary round will start on 30th July and will end on 15th August and the final round will start on 17th August. Out of the 20 matches in the preliminary round, 12 matches will be played in Colombo R. 8 matches will be held at Premadasa Stadium, Kandy Pallekele Stadium and all the final round matches will be held at Colombo R. It will be held at Premadasa Stadium.
The tournament will consist of 8 days in which two matches will be played in one day in the preliminary round.
The two teams that held the first two spots in the points table will compete against one another, and the two teams that will hold the third and fourth spots in the points table will compete against them. The four teams who occupy the top four spots in the points table from the preliminary round will advance to the final round. The games will be conducted according to the IPL Finals.
